Dennis Cunanan

President

Dennis Lacson Cunanan is a graduate of Executive Education from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He also managed to obtain the following degrees: Masters in Public Administration, Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Bachelors of Arts in Public Administration. During his student days at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, he was elected by the student body from the entire UP System to serve as their Student Regent in 1994 to 1995.

He has served in various elected and appointed government positions as elected Municipal Councilor and OIC-Vice Mayor of Magalang, Pampanga, youngest Head Executive Assistant in the Office of the Speaker of Congress and as Presidential Assistant for Youth Affairs in 2004 to 2010. He is the President and CEO of The Concun Group, Inc., a family corporation engaged in resort management, spring water bottling and refilling and eco-tourism projects. He is now actively practicing as a Management and Political Consultant to various companies and local government units. Currently, he is also the President and CEO of Advantage Management Consulting Philippines, Inc. (AMCPI) which is in partnership with the Greenlee Consulting of Michigan, USA. He is an Outstanding Capampangan Awardee in the field of Youth Service.

He first joined JCI (Junior Chamber International) in 1995 and was elected the local Charter President of the then newly formed JCI Magalang “Mekeni.” In 2005, he was elected to serve as JCI Philippines’ 57th National President. He served at the JCI International Board of Directors as 2008 Vice President assigned to Australia, New Zealand, Pacific, French Polynesia, Indonesia and Taiwan, 2009 Chief Executive Assistant to the World President, 2010 World General Legal Counsel and 2011 World Executive Vice President for Asia and the Pacific where he presided over the JCI Asia Pacific Conference (ASPAC) held in Manila. He was named JCI Secretary General at the General Assembly of the 2012 JCI World Congress held in Taipei, Taiwan and began his term on January 1, 2014 after the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil JCI World Congress. As JCI Secretary General, he was responsible for the overall management of the organization and the World Headquarters team based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA as Chief Executive Officer. He is conferred the lifetime membership recognition as JCI Senator with JCI Senate Number #63568. He is also a Henry Giessenbier JCI Foundation Member. He is an elected Trustees of JCI Senate Philippines Foundation and served as its Vice Chairman and President.

His travels in Freemasonry started when he was initiated as an Entered Apprentice 26th of February 2005, passed as a Fellow Craft 12th of March 2005 and raised as a Master Mason on the 30th of March 2005. His mother lodge is Jose Abad Santos Masonic Lodge # 333 based in Mabalacat City, Pampanga and is a charter member of Magalang Masonic Lodge # 391 where he served as its 1st elected Worshipful Master in 2011.  He is made a dual member of Hiram-Takoma Lodge #10 of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the District of Columbia, USA on the 27th of October 2005 and eventually conferred the honor of Life Membership in the same Lodge. By the 10th of November 2012, he pursued further his travels when he endured and crossed the hot sands of the desert and be created as a Noble of Shriners International that is committed to philanthropic work of supporting and helping burned and crippled children while enjoying brotherly fun and deeper fellowship. He managed to move up to the 32nd degree of higher masonic learning under the Scottish Rites on the 16th of November 2012. He joined the Order of the Secret Monitor or the Brotherhood of David and Jonathan in the British Isles and its Districts and Conclaves Overseas on the 4th of February 2013 to deepen masonic friendship, camaraderie, and care. He is a Past Supreme Ruler of the Pillars of the North Conclave # 7 of the Grand Conclave of Southeast Asia.

In 2013, he served the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines as District Deputy Grand Master for RIII-Pampanga. In 2017, he was made Grand Lodge Representative to the Grand Lodge of Chile. He was installed as 2018-2019 Junior Grand Lecturer for Central Luzon. He is an elected Board of Trustee Member of the Masonic Charities for Crippled Children, Inc. (MCCCI) and is designated as its Corporate Secretary. Served as the Chief of Staff of the Grand Lodge in 2019-2021. He was Grand Orator in 2021-2022 and in 2022-2023 served as Senior Grand Lecturer (SGL) where he enthused and directed the monthly lectures in the entire jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge.

On the 14th of November 2015, the Mabuhay Shrine Center Philippines under the jurisdiction of Shriners International granted the charter for the creation of Mt Arayat Shrine Club that will operate primarily in Pampanga with oversight over Bulacan and Bataan. The nobles who pursued to form the new shrine club elected him as its Charter President. With his outstanding performance as Club President, he was eventually elected Oriental Guide of Mabuhay Shrine Center in 2017,  High Priest and Prophet in 2018, Assistant Rabban (2nd Vice President) in 2019, Chief Rabban (1st Vice President) in 2020 and eventually as 2021 Illustrious Potentate (National President) of which his term was recognized and acknowledged with its outstanding performance during the Shriners International Imperial Session of that same year in their philanthropic work for helping burned and crippled children.

Dennis Cunanan or Decu was born and raised in Pampanga, A graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman.
